How to make extensions for a photo shoot in 30 min.

So I needed to make some extensions for a shoot for my friend Amanda Pearl fast! This is the quick way to get it done!

1. Start with packages of hair. Synthetic will do but no heat on synthetic! These are human hair. You can get them at any ol' ghetto hair store. I always do two colors in the same family (one on top of the other). It just looks prettier.

2. Get some wig clips. The large ones.

3. Clear white weave glue. This stuff always smells yucky but works like a charm!

4. Spread out the hair, measure and cut to the width you want

5. Try to keep you cat off of it.

6. These are the widths I chose. Wider for the back and skinner for the sides.

7.Glue two wefts of hair together to make it stronger. I used yellow and orange hair but you can use whatever.

8. Let dry. They dry kinda fast but overnight is best if you have the time. I didn't have time to sew the clips to these so she will just bobby pin them in. I am going to sew clips on them later. Crisscrossed bobby pins will hold them just fine for a shoot or a night out on the town. What do you guys think? ROCK!- Cali - Posted from my magical iPhone

Seeing Red

I feel like every time fall rolls around people want some shade of red hair which I happen to love myself.
Although I have never been a redhead, It is one of my favorite hair colors and the one that women seem to be the MOST afraid of. In turn, it is the color that usually looks the best on the people who are most scared of it. Go figure.  Here are some of my favorite red heads. Who are yours?
Doesn't Drew almost ALWAYS look good now a days?

Bryce Dallas Howard

Karen

Of course Joan was on this list!

Tori

Flashback! But it was some pretty red hair!

Rose

Oh so 90's but you know you love it!!

Six feet Under Lauren Ambrose
Vampire Queen herself! Evan Rachel Wood
Florence Welch Dark Red
Both Florence Welch again with different shades of red.

Fair!

So last night I went to the Tennessee State Fair with some friends.

There are always 1 million things to photograph at the fair but these are the few things I managed to get when I wasn't on rides or eating corn dogs. Speaking of eating...the beef sundae was interesting. I only tasted a bite but my friend Brian at the whole thing AND a corn dog. ouch!

**yes! that is a "cherry" tomato on top!** They keep saying this is the last year of the fair which would make me incredibly sad. How would you feel if there was no more fair? - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

So what IS in Iowa......

This weekend I went to the Quad-Cities area of Iowa to see my American Picker friends.
This is what I saw. Enjoy!
This is the house we stayed in. It was a mansion built in the late
1800's. I felt like Lily Munster.
This was the window in the bedroom that I crawled out of every night
and sat on a balcony. I tried to teleport it back home with me.
